DVX Movie Sleepover Nightmare at Blockbuster.

I bought it about a week ago and loved it. It looked really good. The girlfriend and I are huge slasher movie fans, so this was perfect for us. Good work!

eh heh.. give you a cookie if you can name the 3 parts where a PD-150 was used.

k the shot of the girls with the car (flashback)
shot of car flipping on that fire thing
shot just before car hit that guy with gun

thanks man.

and good work mobiledeli, your right. Plus all the underwater stuff was pd150. we hired a national geographic guy to shoot that stuff, he was an older guy and we didnt tell him the script. It was really funny when the dude took off his shorts underwater, the camera went all screwed up as the shooter (Randy was his name) had a mild heart attack.

enough to buy me one of these babies:

If anyone is waiting for Netflix in the SouthEast, I have the only copy and I'm not sending it back!

I am also proud to announce that Sleepover Nightmare is an Official Selection for our distant location crew film festival now underway in Martinsville, VA. Jarred, just tell me where to send the royalty check?

Anyone curious why 90% of "Sleepover Nightmare" took place during the day?

I'm more curious as to why Blockbuster decided to distribute it...

Sleepover=night-time :)
Ahh, the economics of shooting at night! If they shot in the summer, you have more daylight hours than night hours=more time to shoot. Plus shooting at night in the woods would probably mean getting generators (mucho noise) for the lights as no AC power would be avail. Plus, shooting at night means you would want to maximize shooting time so you would film between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. And how many people want to do that?

Blockbuster is most likely not the distributor, ThinkFilms is. Blockbuster made them a deal to stock it in their stores. Just like Netflix did, Amazon etc etc.

As a side note: it wasn't cool deleting Urines previous post, where they were surprised by the figure, and commented that the film was terrible. Are only positive comments allowed to-wards moderators and their work? It did not seem mean spirited to me. So he thought it was terrible, its his opinion: plenty of others thought it was great.

Jared seemed to take it in stride, as I'm sure he is aware not everyone will like it. I got it from Netflix last night and watched about 10 minutes of it, and it does kind of suck IMHO. Thats no dig against its technical merits, as the camerawork was good considering how much money they had to work with.

hey Urine was removed because of his second post, not the first one, no big deal, he had a X already and his name was even offensive. When he starts insulting my or my friends though, that crosses the line. But anyways, this is my backyard so I dont need to really explain that decision anyways.

I was not offended by his comment on the the quality of the movie, the script was writen in 5 days and we shot it in 18, we all knew it wouldnt win any awards.

As for the night shooting, it was not budget or anything else but the script that dictated the day shooting. The name Sleepover Nightmare sounds like night though, but that was not the original name, that was changed for international distribution because foreign sales had no idea what sleepover meant (its an american word). Sleepover was the original title, and named because the teens come over to have a sleepover party. Most of them just never make it that far.

Fair enough, thanks for the clarification. I didnt know there were other circumstances leading to the deletion. You're right, you realy dont need to explain yourself. I once had some criticisms of Sony on the Vegas forum, very constructive (I thought), that were deleted, so I find myself rushing to my soapbox even if I dont have all the details.

The simple fact that my impression of the movie wasnt deleted is proof enough. :)
