DVX Movie Sleepover Nightmare at Blockbuster.

Congratulations Jarred! I always hound you about never posting your own footage. I guess a DVD movie counts. BUT it would still be nice to see a trailer online or some footage you can post.

You and the distributors need to look into Southeast Asia. They love that stuff over here. Slasher Cheese is universal and translates well to all languages and cultures.

Sorry I'm a little late. Just found this thread.

Hey Blackout

Loved the Slater prank; how you kept a straight face I do not know.

How do you know that I kept a straight face? It's a phone call. Only audio... I was actually making very funny faces... I just kept a straight voice.

Actually, I almost busted a gut a few times. Listen between the call and before he calls back, I was laughing my ass off.

Thanks for the compliments and enjoy exploring the rest of the site. I am in the process of converting everything from real audio which is now outdated to all streaming mp3.... it is tedious let me tell you. I have hundreds and hundreds of hours of material.

I got my Sleepover Nightmare DVD in the mail Today!! Gonna check it out here in a little while and post my *unofficial* review!!

...Just watched it.

Dood, it seemed to me that underwater pool scenes *reeked* of 60i. There were several other shots that stuck out quite a bit when cutting back and forth as well. So was there alot of 60i B-roll stuff? The rest of the movie seemed to be mostly 24p. Although, alot of colors and gamma curves seemed a bit less "refined" that what I've seen people produce lately. But didn't you say it shot 2 years ago on the 100......not the 100A right? I'm sure if it was made now with the 100a and all that we know about the camera's settings, it probably would look a little sharper.

So anyways, I thought it was pretty cool. There were a few parts that were quite cheesy and laughable, but overall I thought it was a good old skool styled *Campy Horror* flick. Glad are finally getting to see it. Real quick though.....how the slow-mo' stuff done?

yeah the pool stuff was all 60i, cause we only had a water housing for the sony.. in the second cut we cut almost all of it out, cause it was so video it was startling.

Color was intentional.. this movie is supposed to look like a 80s cheasy slasher flick, which by your assesment it looks like we did our job. It was on the original 100s with color turned down a bit, and we compressed the colors a bit. David lit the thing using shadows which was kinda cool.

Slow stuff was done in Vegas... the velocity envelopes worked well, except the final online on the avid was done in 60i (dont ask) so it pooched it a little.

I'm going to downloa......I meant rent it tommorow. I have several friends with movies out at BB and Hollywood video. Nothing like 80's style horror. Jarred's cool!

Jarred....you guys definitely *did* accomplish the 80's look for sure. I just wasn't sure if it was intentional. But now that I know it was......I can say "GREAT JOB!!"

So anyways.....is it ok if I rent it again and make a "Backup Copy" for future viewing pleasure? I mean, if everyone's already been paid........

Oh and one last thing. My girlfriend didn't make it all the way through the movie. About 3 /4 through she was like "Ok, I had enough....I'm going to bed!!" Overland....I definitely understand what you meant about the wife comments earlier. I think they may not understand or "appreciate" such gems of filmmaking!!

Yeah, congrats Jarred!

I put it at the top of my Netflix Queue, but i don't think I'll be receiving it any time soon.

*Availability - LONG WAIT*

Sucks that I can't see it, but I'm glad a whole lot of other people can.

I'll check it out, is it available on Netflix?
P.S. that guy with the spear looks like Jared Land.

Got mine today, too (from Amazon).

Have to try to talk the wife into watching it...she really really really doesn't like scary movies, but I always feel guilty if I sit in front of the tube without her.

Jarred,

How is the movie doing so far? Is it available for sale or only for rent from Blockbuster & Netflix? Do you have any rental or sales numbers back? Is it expected to recoup its original budget? C'mon, updates man!
