DVX Movie Sleepover Nightmare at Blockbuster.

lol thats not a good vote of confidence.. Already in Overstock.com a week before its even released. No faith I tell ya!@@#$

What's funny is that Overstock gets most of their swag from the Home Shopping Network. Odd place to sell your movies Jarred, but hey, it worked for Suzanne Somers!

Yo' Jarred.....it is just one disc? Or two?

Also, what kind of goodies and extras are on the disc / disc's? Thanx!!

Oh and its one disc.. I shot a little sit down with the director and actors asking questions and stuff and they are all in lingerie pretending to have a sleepover, and we did a commentary as well.

My wife gave me that look only wives can give when I requested that she put it in our queue. Anyway, congratulations on your success.

Jarred, very cool, I look forward to getting it through my BB account. Let me ask you, what was the one thing that you learned from this shoot that you will carry with you from now on? (sorry, standard ? for filmmakers) Seriously, what was the one thing that you learned from this shoot?

The biggest think I learned was that actually shooting the movie was the easiest part.. seriously; photography was in August of almost 2 years ago. We just filmed the DVD stuff last month, and in between that I had to recut it 2x, do a reshoot, change some music, etc.... every time I thought it was done I would get a call from NY telling me there was something else.

I also learned the true value of a camera assistant, that they arnt there to help you carry your crap around and make sure batteries where charged. you gotta get them to do absolutley everything, As a DP or Operator you shouldnt lift anything. I know that sounds gay, and I felt like a lazy dick sometimes, but Shooting outdoors in the forest really took a beating on me and I realized when I got tired the camera work got sloppy, and I started hurting myself. I swear after you figure that out you appreciate the assistants alot more and your game improves. (if your operating the cameras of course)

I also learned the best way to shoot a movie is to take everyone in the middle of nowhere and make a movie.. because thats all you can do, no distractions and everyone becomes a family. Makes a better movie.

Personally, the best thing is the friendships I created with Ben (producer) and Boon (Director), Boon has become almost a mentor to me.

Jarred,

If you don't want to comment on it, I think everyone would understand, but I'm curious about how a DP and other below the line crew members might be cut in on distribution revenues.

You never know when you're on a project - it could turn out to be another Blair Witch or Night of the Living Dead, where low production costs have no correlation to receipts. Anyway, I'm curious to know if you try to forge backend agreements when you work low/no?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

No, nobody gets points below the line. On Sleepover everyone got a paycheck so its not like we where getting people to work for free. We did get some of the mixing defered but it wasn't an excessive amount.
