I just wanted to know what I should buy as far as cleaning equiptment. If there is a decent package out there that would be great. What should i steer clear of?

Just got the dvx and want to take care of it right.

yeah. The problem is i just don't know what brand to look for or what product exactly. i don't want to buy some knock off brand of w/e type of cleaning fluid or clothe to find it can actually ruin the camera lens.
 
Standard lens cleaning kit( blower, microfibre cloth, cleans cleaning fluid, brush, lens tissue) will work for the lens.

For the camera body just use a damp cloth( make sure u squeeze out that cloth well) and a mild detergent if needed.

For Head cleaning when the red X pops up showing that the heads are dirty, use a new blank tape in vcr mode I believe and press play till it reaches the end. Discard tape. If it still shows red u can try that again.
Other option is a head cleaning tape however that is harsher on the heads.

Get a uv filter to protect the lens and u won't even have to clean the lens...u'll be cleaning the filter.

Get a good camera bag that provides sufficient cushioning.

Don't point the lens toward harsh light or the sun for a long time. Ditto for the viewfinder ...don't leave it pointed to the sun.

Yeah, we have hardly anything here though. Small town. Not very technology friendly.
