DVX. Magicbullet and a girl

Man, that looked really good! Naturally beautiful! Some of your shots looked tight! She was wonderful as well. Good stuff man!

PS: did you use a wideangle adapter of anykind?

Great shots! Loved the color correction, not to mention Cold Play makes anything instantly 100x cooler.

yeah, i have to agree with that one too.

nice comments, you guys are too nice. denke.

oh, thisiswells, i guess i dont mind, but the link you provided isn't working... but thanks.

Spider, no just DVX as it is. regular letterbox.

nice work dcpixl! what a great opp to test out all the filters and whatnot. some really nice shots in there! for being just essentially test footage it held my attention for the duration. although that song in particular makes it seem like a love letter of sorts to/from that girl, so i hope someone got a date out of it! he he

i have to disagree with benscottproduction's comment implying that you need magic bullet in order to make dvx footage look good. i love magic bullet and use it sometimes too, it helps when done well and when needed stylistically, but you can get amazing images and colors from the dvx without any fancy post-tweakers too.

There was some really nice images in that. I liked the one where the girl is looking out the window. Also the wideshot in front of the water is really nice.

I liked the song and what youve done, What would really be nice is to see an before Magic Bullet cut and an after MB cut. So we can see how much you really manipulated the image. Keep up the good work and testing.

wait, if you're in NYC, then where was that shot? I mean at least it doesn't look like manhattan but then again me living in the city, if you shot in the burroughs I probably wouldn't recognize it anyways, hmm....

DVX without magic bullet... just doesn't cut it.

Say what? I guess you just haven't seen anygood footage. Magic Bullet doesn't make it instantly cool; my opinion is that MB only has a handful uf usable PRST's as it is.

We need to take you on a tour of Quailty DVX footage sans the MB

That was really nice Dvpixl. The motage held me throughout. You have some nice comps and most imporatly the edit was tight and seems appropriate. My favortie shots are the one of her indoors looking out the window and several shots of her sillouetted (sp?) against the skline with a kind of cold blue haze.

Good job.

you guys are awesome. such enthusiastic compliments. nice!
anyway sorry for the late reply. but here it goes.

first of all MB settings. I customized the LOOK SUITE as follows

pre sat 0
pre gamma-5
precontrast 41

do lens check

BLACK diffusion
grade 1.95
size 23
highlight 3

WHITE diff.
grade. 0.82
size 85
highlight squelch 14
fade 50

do camera check
3 strip process 22
tint 9
tint color green
tint black threshold 26

do post check
post
warm/cool 0
warm/cool hue 23
post gam 0
post contrast 18
post sat -5

that's that. but I've tweaked alot of the gamma in post and messed around with black and white diffusion for separate shots so it varies.

I have to agree that MB just enhances but doesn't make the shot. I like to think that without the specs i've used in the DVX, I couldn't get the same from using MB.
here are the DVX settings I've used in most of the shots except for the third grab.

detail +3
v detail +3
coring -2
chroma -3
phase -3
temp 0
master ped -7
iris +2
cine-like V
matrix: cine-like
skin tone off
v detail thin
24pA

for third grab

detail -4
v detail -2
coring -2
chroma -1
phase -2
temp -3
master ped +5
iris 0
cine-like
matrix: cine-like
skin tone on
v detail thin
24pA

I couldnt stop watching.....simple but effective. Great colors and she is very natural and easy to watch.

thanks for the kind words. I had thought in my mind that it was really cheesy... and so did the actress. but now I feel better.
