Hello!

We shot a 3 min thing that pretends it's film noir-ish (with brunettes and everything) ;o

really great man, nicely lit.

im curious, the first shot when the girl walks into frame, obviously her shadow really creates that dramatic contrasty effect, but i notice the other side of her face is also lit. How did you light that side of hte face without creating a shadow on the opposite side of her? i.e. why are there not two long shadows.

the only thing that was, actually quite sucky was the garbage bag at the end. He lifts it effortlessly, it is far too light and makes me disbelieve.

THe lighting was very good, Im still trying to figure out how you lite that first wide.....if you have the time I'd love to know what the lighting setups were like for some of those shots.

Very Nice. Lighting was very impressive. I would like to see more of your footage with the M2.

Like it, simple and held my interest (and I can't even understand them!).

The only two things that threw me off were sound design related. The crackle of the cigarettes burning where too blatant and the machine gin sounds like it is very far away, when in reality it is under the camera.

Your visuals were VERY good, man. I know your LARGE file isn't the best quality, but it held up very nicely on a 32" screen output via DVI from PC.

Not sure about the content itself, though. SEems as though your "hitman" or whatever he was needed to tug on that cigarette a little less. It just seems like he has no idea how to smoke the darned thing.

Otherwise, I think it looks fantastic.

Great job. The "crackling leaves" sound over the lighting and inhaling of the cigarette was great on the close ups, but we shouldn't hear it as loud from 10 feet away (if at all). And the trash bag of her dismembered body should have looked like it weighed about 110pounds. It would be impossible for him to carry that with one hand and lift into the trunk.

Fantastic job. Black and white was a really good choice here and it looked authentic. The music added a cool eery feel to the whole thing, almost reminded me of some of the music in Fincher's "Seven". Dutch angles were nice also. I liked your compositions.

Nice work.

the lighting technique where you have one key light and back light to create the shadow in between to my understanding is usually done by a large white bounce- either with it's own light directly pointed at the bounce or you can use the stong back light to work both jobs. and most of the time bounce light doesn't create shadows. in this particular scene, I guess the back flood was strong enough to cover it.

if im wrong then dont say a word.
