That clip was great could you provide some more info IE what lens manufacturer and series your using? as well as what length you used for that

The main reason I'm posting this is because I think some people out there wanted to know if the letus35 enhanced would fit with a mattebox. The lense at the end of the unit is really low, so I had a couple of problems adjusting it. But for those wondering , it's doable.

These are the specs;

Lense: Nikon 50mm f1.8 series E
Filters: no physical filters, but I used "Curahee" with the Magic Bullet
Rods: there just the standard Cavision rods that come with the mini DV package

the whole setup is quite the transition from just the DVX alone. Each shot needs to really be planned out and lighting is key. I just find handheld really hard because as much as I try the letus ends up moving a tiny bit which sort of shakes the image.

as far as the letus moving, try to strap it down closer to the front. i have the same setup but with a different 35 adapter and that does the trick. i saw some vignetting in your clip. was that done in post or is it the adapter? if the adapter, you may be able to zoom a bit further into the gg to correct it. i'd like to see it without so much compression to be able to tell what is grain and what is artifact.

overall looks nice though. the out of focus areas maintain their saturation well and don't get hazy like mine. mine has a vignette as well that i have learned to love....

*drewls* follow focus...... lol After buying all this stuff, I need to stop spending for awhile. lol. And for the vignetting, I personaly love it, when I didn't have my 35mm adapter I would always add it. :)

The "bokeh" looks good on this (circles of confusion in the BG)
On the other letus footage I've seen, the bokeh becomes a gaussian blur, which is supposedly good, but i dont like it.
That footage looked really good. It seemed pretty sharp edge to edge? Is it?

Thats not a DVX no more...The lens is bigger than the camera! I love it! In my book the quality of the camera is directly proportionate to the lens size:p....Oh, and er...Nice footage too

Two questions for you.

First are the rods that came with the Cavision matte box long enough, or did you have to get more? Second did you need to order anything special to connect the lens and the matte box or is it just sitting inside the mattebox with space around it?

We are getting the same setup. Your footage looked nice, I'm getting excited for what ours is going to look like!

The rods were sort of short, but they did the trick. I still need to buy longer ones because the rods are halfway in the base that supporst them. Any longer lenses and I'm screwed, pretty much.

I didn't need to order anything special to attach the mattebox to the rods, it was already attached to the mattebox when I received it. The lense support was wayyyyy too overpriced though.

Are you using this with the letus35 Enhanced ? Cause I didn't have a few problems. For example, the letus lowers the lense alot, so the slr lense wouldn't fit in the middle of the mattebox. I doupt you would understand this if the unit is not in your hands, but I simply flipped the matteboxe's support and that gave me more space.

bought it couple of month ago, and now I cant use it with my setup cause it's too heavy :( makes me sad, but yes I did like it ( actualy more like love it). It's a glidecam 2000, I want to sell it.

what is the material of the rear mount of your mattebox? is it the ABS version or the metal? You also state that you're using a Nikon (52mm thread), so most probably the mattebox has a step down ring on its rear as well?
