DVX hours

Hey guys,

I'm somewhat of a newbie to the whole word of the DVX and am looking into buying a used one. My question is, the hours on the available units vary so greatly. In terms of hours on the camera, where should I draw the line? 100? 200? 500? 1000? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Something similar I wanna ask too... when should we send the dvx for servicing? Can the number of hours be an indication? If so, how much?

FYI - Having just gotten an HVX I have a very nice LOW HOURS DVX100A (84 hours)

It has been used only by a professional shooter for news and packages for Nickelodeon/Noggin.

Will be posting for sale soon so if you know anyone in the market for a nice used camera they can PM me.

Danel,

I can get that info for you. We recommend sending the camera in once a year for just a good cleaning and re-lubrication of the mechanism. The only exception is if you shoot "Baywatch the reunion" or something of the sorts and you have sand or dirt inside. Then you may want to send it in right after your job to make sure no corrosion sets in.
