DVX green screen + after effects (18 seconds)

Dude... that was cool! Couldn't see the key really good (compressed small file) but we've had great success with keylight and green screen.

damn... how do you get the bleeding green edges off the person?
noticed the matching "lighting effect" on the charachter+background..nice.. :]
wheres the CG from?

For your first greenscreen work, very well done. Just a couple small issues:

When I view it at 800 size I noticed right away that the floor on the left side of the subject seems to be oscillating up and down.

There's still a lot of green color cast in the shadows under subjects chin and on left shoulder area.

Gotta fly for the day but here's a quick response and glad you guys enjoyed it!

After Effects 7:

1.The Wiggler (1,10) smooth for the first 15 seconds for a slight handheld feel.

2.The Wiggler (15,25) jagged for explosion with motion blur on.

2a.Motion Tile effect to fill in the gaps from the Wiggler on edges. with mirror edges on.

3.Color correction was levels using the seperate channels to get it close.

4.Explosions were two Detonation Film clips (free!) blended with Screen mode and placed down the hall. Raised input black level to bring them out a bit.

5.Opacity flicker on ambient light layer with Wiggler throughout to mimic flickering lights in basement tunnel. Might explain the oscillating seen in smaller clip. Subtle effect.

6.Light wrap layer used on me (guy with gun) to simulate flames going around me and trying to get more real feel as explosion rolls by.

7. Recorded MOS...then added 7 layers of sound to make it feel real. I think sound is So effing important and helps sell it...never scrimp on the sound.

8. Final CC with Curahee from MB to crush blacks and stretch highlights.

Photo was taken from a google "tunnel" image search. Color Correction with After Effects Levels tweeking each channel seperately.

Total time to shoot and edit...5 hours. Smokes and Drinks....1/2 pack, 4 beers.

Thanks for the questions...

all the best

Maybe having no shirt on made the key that much easier?

I noticed that the area around the hat seemed a bit off (But this is a smaller res file).

This was awesome.

Awesome job for your first run at keying!

Your subject was a little to big for the background but thats an easy fix. Great job!
