DVX going through a X-ray machine

I'll be going on vacation and would like to bring my DVX along.
My question is, are there any effects on the camera after it has gone through the X-ray machine at the Airport? and If it's bad for the camera, what can I do?

I've also heard that being up at such altitudes will subject your camera to certain UV/cosmic waves or something of the sort, which are capable of knocking out a pixel or two from your CCD chips causing your image to have dead pixel space.

X-ray machines will not damage your DVX, they only really damage film. as for the second one, i highly doubt it but if you're still concerned you could just get a uv filter.

i flew from knoxville tn. to LA and my DVX was a carry on, i wasn't aware that flying could damage you camcorder, but mine is fine i shot an entire show on it and it still work's great. if that help's

You'll have a better chance of your dvx getting damaged by the TSA (Thousands Standing Around) bozos mishandling it than you will any xrays.

And film is fine as well, aslong as it isn't duper fast speed (iso 800 or higher)

if the gamma rays at high altitude are powerfull enough to knock a pixel dead in your camera, you have bigger problems, like keeping your skin on your body...
and cancer.

I have traveled for over 2 years with my dvx across thousands of miles, on airplanes. Nothing has happened from altitude or xrays, that goes for MiniDV tapes as well. You're good to go. I just don't suggest putting ur dvx in your check-on back, take that baby on the plane!
