Dvx footage up to HD

I've seen some posting about uprezzing to HD. Blowing up and cropping the image, is this done from footage captured from firewire or SDI? I was always under the impression that footage captured from Firewire had a lower bitrate due to the limitations of firewire.

Should a HD uprezz follow an online using a SDI transfer to help support blowing up the image. I have a client that may want to make a HD cam tape, from our DVx100b/Final Cut Pro project.
 
capturing over firewire is basically a file transfer. what you have on tape is exactly what you'll have on computer. capturing any other way will have quality loss.

as far as uprezzing, search the dvx forum for Iraq in Fragments. it's a doc that dvxuser jlongley shot on dvx, and uprezzed. there is a thread about it.
