DVX far too grainy indoors?

I just visited a local dealer and I tryied out a DVX. He set the camera to interlaced and I would think he used a slow shutter and full aperture, but I´m not sure....I mean...he should know the camera since he is an offical dealer.

I didn´t take the camera outside, but the idoors footage was SO GRAINY. It wasn´t very dark there and certainly any darker than inside museums, so I wonder if that is normal for what the DVX can do indoors or did the dealer probably made some mistakes?

I know everybody suggest Sony VX2100 for low light but it has its issues like audio hiss. So I´m not sure what to do know....and I need your advice e.g. on if DVX100B has enough improvements etc....maybe Barry knows that?

Not enough info. Was the ND filter on? I don't have any problem with graininess unless the camera settings are out of wack. This is not a point and click camera some salesman can pick up an demo without some experience with it. I've had mine for 8 months and I haven't scratched the surface of what it can do. If you have any doubt about what the camera is capable of search for "Being Disjecta" by disjecta and you'll get a tast of what it can do in the right hands. We have 8000+ members for a reason. Buy it you won't regret it.

might have had the gain on too. did he let you play around with it, or just look at it through a monitor or something?

my guess would be the gain was up, but yeah, no way to know unless we picked up the camera ourselves.

everyone else here though can tell your that our indoor footage is fine
