The first group of picks for TromaDance 2006 have been posted online and (at least) two DVX-made films "Texas Fortune" (Curugon) and "Hunting Camp" (the-lyons-den.com) have made the cut!

Hope to meet some of you out there, PM me if you're going (Sundance, TromaDance, and/or Slamdance)! And congrats to Curugon, hope you'll make some time in between autographs to have a beer with me!

If you're a DVXUser and I missed you please post here as well...

Very cool! Congrats to you too, John.

Yes I will be there - never pass up the chance for an official Troma party.

Congrats to you both! (I know you've been waiting anxiously for the announcement, John :))
he he, yes! It is the last festival I submitted Hunting Camp to, so yes, I was crossing the fingers....

Thanks everyone for your words!

I am in such a mad scramble now to make sure I can get out there and have a place to sleep! I will take lots of pics to share with you guys...

Anyone hear of any other DVX movies playing (at any of the fests)?

Great news! I had a feature released by Troma last year. If you see Rob or Lloyd, tell them they rock. Just don't expect a lucrative distribution deal! ; )

Congrats! What's the title of you flick? How was your Park City experience? Got any tips?

Oh man John, I'm so excited for you brother! That's awesome! Do they let you know the details up front like play times and stuff?

All right, just scored a room at the Park City Radisson. It sure was a lot easier finding accomodation during the summer...

Anyways if you're gonna be in town during that time send me a PM.

Thanks man! When am I gonna cross paths with you at one of these? Unfortunately we don't know the play times yet (do we Curugon?), hopefully soon though and I will post them in my sig.

The film is "Space Daze," and it actualy played at Cannes, not Sundance. Troma always has a little venue set up at these places. Sometimes in a theater, sometimes not. I couldn't go to the fest, but I'm sure my film was screened on a shoe store wall somewhere.

It's a super-low budget comedy about alien abduction and tabloid journalism. It's not a great movie, since it consists of two separate films smashed together, but we made it work and it is watchable if you want to check it out. You can buy it at Amazon, or directly from Troma, or pretty much anywhere that sells DVDs online. It's available through Netflix as well, but what isn't?

Be warned, the film is packaged as a double-feature with "Attack of the Space Preachers," as well as about an hour of extra Troma material, all crushed onto one DVD. This means the compression is horrendous. It looks like utter crap on that DVD. It looks so much better off my digital master.

Anyway, congrats again and good luck.

Well that's awesome man and congrats to you! (we aren't all on Netflix so be proud)
