Hi all. Film/Video is (sometimes inconveniently, but necessarily) a collaborative art. It can be hard to find people to work with for fun, and to gain experience, especially when you're just starting out (like me). Looking to get some people together in the NYC area who are enthusiastic about DV/Film. Anyone with any experience is, of course, extremely welcome, and so is anyone at any level who is interested in getting their feet wet and/or experimenting with pushing the envelope in this medium. I have a dvx100a, and some very, very basic knowledge and equipment. If anyone is interested in getting something like this rolling, let me know.

I need some clarity to what you want to do. Experimental video? Narrative projects? bartering your services for mine? What? Are you looking to hook up with people to learn how to use your camera and gear? Are you actually interested in a collective of video makers.

Hey, Pete. Yes, I am interested in a collective of video makers. You pretty much said it right there, i want to hook up with people to learn. I figured that while everyone was at it, we could exchange ideas and pool equipment, if we so desired. We could concieve of and execute small projects, to get our feet wet. I'm interested in narrative work, but i'll try just about anything now to get some experience. It'd be nice to have a group of interested people who could toss around ideas, and put them into effect.

okay, I'll teach you everything you need to know about video, if you can find me a cheap apartment in Manhattan. Oh wait... Since we're a collective, it should be a big enough loft, so we can all shoot and edit there and never have to leave... well in that case it doesn't have to be in Manhattan. Okay, if you can find a cheap loft in the Bahamas....
