Hi,

I am new to this forum so bare with me please. I recently purchased a DVX100B and I am currently learning how to use it. I use FCP/After Effects to edit and just recieved my free Magic Bullet software. I posted 2 clips and look foward to interacting with a positive, passionate group of filmmakers. Please provide feedback/suggestions if so inclined. Thanks

(scion shot w/letterbox)
(dog shot w/squeeze)

first suggestion, don't shoot letterboxed. Shoot clean and matte in post (put guidelines on your LCD)

the scion footage looks nice, did you correct it yourself or use magic bullet? Did you use an adapter on the dog? it's really hard to tell with the shitty youtube compression.

yeah, i shot some letterboxed some squeeze. i cc'd the scion footage in FCP and used magic bullet on the dog clip. no adapter. just out of curiosity, is it worth putting clips on dvxuser to get feedback, even if they're just test footage? i want to learn and i figure the more input the better.

Post whatever you want and let it be up to the users to determine if it's worth checking out or not. What preset in MB was that?

A few pointers after only watching the Scion clip. Good angles, very Top Gear-esque :) Watch out for over-exposing some parts, showing just frame grabs made it look very 'slide showish' which kind of turned me off to it. Keep up the good work!

i appreciate the feedback. i really wanted to use footage of the car but most of the shots were handheld, therefore shaky, so i opted for stills. i have a lot more footage of it that i want to use to re-create a top gear episode(if only i could get jeremy clarkson to commentate it!). i didnt use MB for the scion footage. i cc'd it in FCP.

you're cc is really good, but yeah, watch the highlights, although it still looks great. Why did you go the slideshow route, post some video of that.

Again, don't shoot letterbox, don't shoot squeeze. If you have one, use the anamorphic adapter, if not shoot 4x3 and matte in post (use guidelines though!)
