DVX/Capturing/Tape/FCP HELP!

Hi! I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on what to do. I filmed a wedding on the DVX last weekend and when I went to download the footage the first half of the mini dv tape when played "skips second by second" but the last half of the tape plays fine. When I capture the footage into FCP it says "timecode break" and wont import. I tried rewinding the whole tape and fast forwarding it. but it still skips..The worst part is that it's during the ceremony. What do I do?

Try another deck/camcorder, but do not expect miracles - if the tape is damaged or was not recorded properly, the footage is lost.

Maybe your heads were dirty. Can you import using "non-controllable device"? If not, then there's always iMovie! That will import your footage regardless
