my camera just randomly stopped working. it wont record and i cant go to any of the menu's. I'm in central florida and i was using it outside in the heat. could anyone tel me what is wrong and how to fix it.thanks
DAMN I'm in florida?? I'm paranoid of hell of going from inside to outside, humidity leads to condensation and that can lead to powersurge from water touching electronics...
Also be careful about salt water air. I used to own an auto A/C shop and in the Keys, there are cars that have been eaten away from the inside out...
DVX is made out of magnesium...salt eats magnesium. BEWARE!
Probally.. I shot in a humid place once, but I just got the Red X signal warning me. Maybe it went past the warning and just stopped. I would take off the battery, and put it somewhere warm and dry overnight and see if that helps.

Have you tried the reset? ABB is auto black balance. It is activated by pressing and holding the AWB button.
ive tried the reset button twice and it still has the same problem. The zoom and record do not work on the handle on the top. i cant not use the menu button either.
i keep a Silica Gel packet in my Pelican case at all times. Silica gel is a desiccant. They absorb water...I know this doesn't help now, but try putting one in with your camera from now on. Good luck man.

Don't worry about humidity...We're talking Florida...it's not humidity...
This happened to me once in Afghanistan. It was 35 Celcius and very humid. The camera just stopped working and turned off. When I tried to turn it back on it always turned off. I even tried changing batteries. I did not notice any warnings on the screen. After trying once or twice I opened the tape compartment to see if the tape was okay. After I put my tape back in and turned it on, it worked fine for the rest of the day and has done that ever since (few months).
I always assumed that this was some condensation in the compartment which somehow came into balance when I opened the thing up. This experience was scary since this happened at worst moment and I didn't know the reason. It would be good to hear from someone at Panasonic about why the camera reacts in this manner and what the "freaked out" owner should do.
