dvx and the new imac 2012

I have a new imac in the mail and was looking for recommendations to capture footage from my dvx. The new imacs don't have firewire ports. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure there are other, and maybe better ways, but I use a Sony MRC1K which uses CF cards. I record directly to the recorder while filming most times but when using tape the DVX (or a DV deck) can move the video from tape to the MRC1K. Move from CF card to the computer through USB.

Thanks for the suggestion tmuss. Your solution is a little out of my budget at the moment. Upon a little more research i found that that apple has a firewire to thunderbolt adapter so I think I will give that a shot.

Yup that's the one i'm gonna try. It gets mixed reviews so hopefully it'll work out.

The new imac don't have a Firewire port, that's why we need an adapter for this. With my old imac, this works great too!

Just to give an update, my imac came in yesterday and I was able to test the firewire/thunderbolt adapter and it works. All is well in the world again. Thanks for the replies guys.
