that's what i thought.
i have here two similar brochures, one is DVX100AE, the other one is DVX102AE and until this moment, i couldnt find it different except the model name.

Hi,
I asked one of our Japanese engineers here and he said this is to help control the grey market problem in PAL countries. This is why it is marked as DVX102. Still is the same as DVX100AE just a different model number.
That is the only difference.
Hope that puts the worries away.

quite understandable, as the DVX costs around €4000 (~ $5000!!!) in europe, due to a draconic tax the european customs charge for anything that's able to record video...
