Does any one knows if the coming DVX-100c?...
will be able to shoot in 60p?...
That would be perfect for 3D stereo projection...
Cesar Rubio.

No.
I am just wondering if the "next' DVX-100c or whatever...
would have this feature or no.

Probably we all have to wait after September 30th to see
what new features Panasonic will add to this line of camcorders...
Cesar.

The only 60P mode in existence right now is 720/60p.

The DVX is a standard-def camera.

Therefore, there's little to no chance of there being such a thing. They'd have to make a high-def DVX in order to support 720/60p.

Of course, they already do offer such a product, the HVX200.

The problem is that Sony considers the 720p format EDTV. Of course this is not true but Panasonic outsmarted Sony by offering 1080i and 1080p support in the HVX200. If the DVX were to offer 480p60 Sony would dismiss this format as standard definition and being no better than deinterlaced 480i. And again this is not true but a lot of people believe Sony.

Not precisely.
The HVX-200 as far as I know its's capable to record to tape only in 480/60i.
I like tape better for long term video storage.

And the price tag of the HVX-200 being double than DVX will be like having 4 DVX's for me, due to the fact that I need 2 camcorders for 3D Stereo recording.
So with the price of 1 HVX I can get to DVX100's (c?)

Besides price, the current PC's in the market can handle better 2 streams
of 480 than 2 of 720 (or 1080 for that matter) at the same time for 3D Stereo
(dual) proyection.

Cesar.

So why don't you just get two JVC cameras? For pro work I think the HVX is the better camera but its tough to be able to afford to buy two of them.

Besides the Price (almost double)...

The weight of the JVC is 7 lbs. x2= 14 lbs
The DVX-100b is only 4.2 lbs x2=8.4 lbs....more manageable
dont you agree?

Cesar.

Its just that for me I need a camera that does 720p60 for high definition sports broadcasts so the Panasonic HVX200 is the only choice. But for your application the JVC may work just fine.

Androbot2084:
What software is good for editing 720/60p or 480/60p for that matter?

I have Avid Liquid 7.1 and Vegas 6...but they dont seem to have support for
that kind of frame rates..

What do you use?

Thanks.
Cesar.

In relationship to 4:1:1 and 4:2:2 when i have my dvx100b in 30p what am i shooting?
i am trying to find out if i can shoot in 4:2:2.

How do I know if the Red Giant software is loaded in my cam?

i am posting here because i have yet to figure out how to post something new.

At least Avid Express Pro supports 720/60p but its not clear to me if only in
the Mac Version...

It seems that 480/60p its not a very popular frame rate....
not even Media Composer says anything about supporting it.

J.Corbett:
Any DV stream (25mbt) like the DVX-100 uses (a&b also) is 4:1:1 color sampling.
It does not matter if you shoot in 60i, 30p or 24p.

DVC PRO50 is 4:2:2 color sampling (better color saturation) but you need the HVX-200 to record in that format.
Cesar.
