DVX 100B Light Sensing Problem

My son's 100B apparently has a light sensing problem. He says it plays back existing videos OK. But when shooting it says "Low Light" in the viewfinder and on the LCD and plays back black. Any idea what the problem might be? What's the best place for repair? (he's at UC Berkeley).

Send it in to Panasonic.

Open the iris and also make sure that the ND filters are not engaged.

Turn on BARS and record some as a test

he didn't leave the lens cap on did he? other then that shooter is right. If he needs a rental unitl it gets fixed i have some pretty good deals.
