Pro Swooping Tour

I bought a new DVX 100B and have started shooting a fact paced sport called "swooping". It is an extreme parachuting sport that happens ground level in front of spectators. It is an airshow of the world's best parachutists. I am the owner and organizer of the Pro Swooping Tour which produces most of these events which are usually shot with production crews and beta cams.
Now we have the DVX 100B and shooting the footage ourself but are having focusing problems while shooting in the 24P mode. It seems to take a while for the camera to focus causing the first part of every competitor's run to be out of focus.
Is this because "swooping" is to fast for shooting in 24P?If you guys want to see some footage of swooping shot with the DVX 100B then please click HERE.
