DVX 100AP (24 fps) doesnt mix with iMovie?

So, somebody just told me that iMovie wont accept 24 fps, is this true? If so, what is another way to still get film like quality and still be able to edit it in iMovie?
 
Anybody? If I wasn't clear before im trying to get the film look with the camera but still be able to import it into iMovie, any suggestions?
 
Much as it pains me, I must admit that I have used iMovie. And it seems to handle 24p just fine. I'm not sure if it handles it like it's supposed to, but I was in too much of a hurry to notice. It does work on some level, though.
