DVX-100A Playback error, Please help.

I have a problem with my Panasonic AG-DVX100AP video camcorder. When I insert a previosulyrecorded mini-dv cassete tape into the camera correctly like I have alwaysdone, a strange sound is heard and a blinking red message appears thatstates, "Auto Off Cylinder Lock," or "Auto off S reel lock."It won't playback the tape. When I take itout the mini-dv casste of the camcorder, the tape is out of the cassete andappears creased and stripped. The previous day I had used the camcorder andthe tape without any problems. I took the tape out of the camcorder after Iused it also. I wish to recieve help about what the problem is, and what Ishould do. Any help would be great. Thanks.
 
I'm not sure if this helps you out, but I have seen that message as well. It happened when I was using a cleaning tape. As soon as the tape reached it's end, I saw the message. I turned the camera off and on again and everything was fine. Does this happen with multiple tapes or just one? Try a different tape.
 
If you get the same behaviour with different tapes, get the camera serviced. If other tapes work fine, it means that that tape is broken. I've seen this happening before both because of faulty tapes and also because of camera problems.
