I'm about to purchase this camera(100A PAL) and I have read a lot of posts regarding problems with shooting 25p...is this true, is it a camera fault or user fault.
Could anyone confirm this for me.
Cheers, Brently
since I joined the forum after purchasing my DVX100AE, i have seen 3 major onslaughts on the performance of the camera, here. One was 'disappointed with Panasonic', the other was regarding some percieved noise problems in the new version, and for the last two weeks....the 'problems of DVX100' stuff. However, very interestingly while each thread achieved a 'hot topic' status in the forum, none seems to have reached any definite conclusions.
Perhaps each had initiated a debate on a NON-ISSUE, to begin with. :-* :-/ :
"Interesting point.Im glad I dont have to deal with the PAL issue, but it is odd that some people are experienceing problems and some are not using PAL"
ur wording reminds me of an old saying "99 % of the males masturbate and 1% lie" ;D ;D ;D ;D
i'm the proud owner of an dvx100ae pal for about a week now
It realy is beautiful (my girlfriend already accuses me of cheating on her with this thing).
As for the problems i realy don't see them! there defenitly is some flickering in 25p during pan's but thats normal since you're shooting
25 whole frames instead of 50 half frames.
as of playback on a pal monitor again no problems?? I played it direct from the camerarecorder to an 100hz and a different 50hz pal tv and no problems.
The only times i saw the stepy edges was when it was captured on an nle (vegas & avid xpress) even on an media composer and the output was perfect again so i don't know wat i'm missing here???
Only one thing is wrong the cam doesn't want to record from my nle but that's probably because my laptop uses a pcmcia firewire card.
p.s. the difference between 25p and video(50i) realy is dramatic
