DVX-100A mic shock mount with steadicam?

I've never actually used the DVX-100A's optional on-camera microphone shock mount (have been using a boom pole), but thought I'd give it a try with my DIY steadicam rig. When I mounted my Azden SGM-1X shotgun mike to the camera, it seems to move around quite a bit in the rubber mount, even though it's a snug fit. Is this mike too large for the camera mount? Maybe this is not the best approach here? Trying to keep it a one man operation with the steadicam...

Thanks!

Are you talking about using the mic mount that came with the camera? If the mic is too big, you won't be able to clamp the mount and tighten the screw. If the mic is moving around, it might be a little smaller than the rubber grips can actually keep immobilized. You could try wrapping a little gaff tape around the mic, just where the mount will grip it.

Yes, the Azden fits snugly into the mount, it's the rubber in the mount itself that's flexing. Just used to the Azden "rubber band" shock mount, which hardly moves at all.
