I am new to this site and have one question. I bought the DVX 100 around 8 months and love it. I found out there is a DVX 100A out now. I just wanted to know what are the major differences between them and is it worth buying the new one?
calm down brotha
this thread has been done 100's of times, search.
DVX100A- better drag on the zoom, cine like D and V gammas, audio sync issue fixed, cooler paint job, better lens cap technology, peaking (more detail) for LCD and the viewfinder.
..you forgot the 12 bit video processing, and shorter minimum focal distance. as well as the improoved lense coating optics, gain in progressive modes, focus assist in progressive modes, and raised ridges around the scene file dial and rear buttons. its also rumored to have a treasure map hidden in the menus.
..is it really worth upgrading to from the 100? well , i didnt and dont plan on it. but if i were to buy a new one, i would certainly get the "A" .
but for all the new "advances" that it touts, i havent seen any better looking images come from it that wouldnt have been possible with the 100.
in fact i havnt seen it doing ANYTHING that the 100 couldnt do ..period.
its got some nice bells and whistles on it over the 100, but truth be told ..bells and whistles do not make a good film.
