DVX-100 for under 2000.00 (is this for real)

I have a question? BH Photo and many other retailers are selling the DVX-100A between 3500.00 and 4000.00
I have found other less known retailers selling them for HALF the price. Whats the deal? A little cheaper I can understand, but half price is so much I don't get it.

Here are some links to retailers selling them for under 2000.00
Is it safe to buy?

No, you get it all right -- the other places are lying through their teeth. Follow the link HorseFilms sent you to, and you'll read all about them.

If you want to actually successfully purchase the product, you'll end up paying $3400. That's just the way it is. So while you're spending that much, you might as well get it from an authorized reseller like EVS, Abel, or B&H.

... and while you're at it, you'll get a real warranty, Barry's book/DVD, a $300 rebate and Magic Bullet. You can't go wrong there.

You get all that for 3400 from BH?

You can get all of that from EVS as well, plus if you contact Rush (a member of this board) you can get the DVX User discount. :)

Re: DVX-100 for under 2000.00 (is this for real)

I have to say I wonder... If I already have a DVX, would there be any reason not to buy the second one from one of these places?

I'm not saying I 'would' do this, but I'm curious. If I bought a DVX from B&H, and have the warrantee card/reciept, and something goes wrong with DVX2 from joeshmoe.com, and they refuse to fix it, how would B&H know that it wasn't my DVX from them I sent them...

Regardless, most problems require you to take it to a service center anyway for repair, unless the product is a lemon (which is protected by your credit card company, or should be) is there any reason not to buy a second or third camera from one of these outfits?

PS I bought my camera from rush and got all the goodies with it :D

Re: DVX-100 for under 2000.00 (is this for real)

heres some info on ccicamera

http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1795.html

an excerpt:
This company is ruthlessly unscrupulous. This company is a sneaky, hardcore-sales, rip-off, worthless fake. Do not. I repeat. Do not do business with these people. I feel as though I just got fleeced by a couple of carnival bums in a back alley. This company is diabolical. They sell gray market merchandise and don't tell you up front what it is you are purchasing. Then they overcharge for everything else. They do not have customer service. They have customer dis-service! Do not use these people. They will rip you off.

I think long story short, if it sounds too good to be true its probably HORRIBLE

Re: DVX-100 for under 2000.00 (is this for real)

All three you mentioned are the SAME company. And they even have a "rating" service linking all 20+ web-site/stores together. So this "rating" service tells you how GREAT they are!
RIP OFF!
Have been communicating with the NY AG's office and the NYC DA's office about these weasels. They are like cockroaches, clean up one place, they just scurry to another.
HOWEVER: The FBI is getting involved and they'r PISSED OFF, so they'll keep going after the scammers. And, because these jerks send things across state lines, THEY HAVE COMMITTED FELONIES. And the FBI takes THAT serious!
(Can you say Bubba's bed toy, owners of A&M Photo?)

Re: DVX-100 for under 2000.00 (is this for real)

Why do all of the scammers have a Brooklyn address? If you're going to have a fake storefront, why not use a Montana or Kansas address. Seperate yourself from the other scammers (the competition). I would buy something from Smallville USA, before I bought it from Brooklyn. :D

Hopefully the scammers won't read this and get an idea.

SCAMMERS SUCK!!!
