DVX 100 CINE-GAMMA problem

With the DVX 100 I've noticed a few shoots of mine have had a similar problem. I've just recently figured out what the cause is, but can't understand why?

When using the "CINE-LIKE Gamma setting opposed to the low/med/ or High. a yellow/green like splatter appears on highlight areas of the shot, more commonly seen for example -outdoors-on anything like grass, bushes.
indoors-white table tops/light colored clothing.

This has caused me a nightmare in post trying re-color correct the bad shots. but I will say the shots are still useable for the most part, but on a bright sunny day it can blow out all your sunlight scenery with that yellow/green like splatter if you expose on or 1/2 stops over.

Anyone experienced the same problem. And Is this still present when using the HD panasonics-HMC 150/HVX 200A/HPX 170's?

Yes, that's part of what the cine-gammas do. Don't let areas overexpose. There is no rolloff against overexposure. Use your zebras and don't let anything hit 105%.

So esentially its not good to use CINE like-gamma when your doing corporate or event videography in my eyes. Those productions are mainly shot at 29.97 for the most part.

I found the MED & High Gamma settings look really nice once balanced with color temp settings etc.. and can easily match for instance with sony & other camcorders when doing a 2 camera shoot.

I've definately learned my lesson in this process. Stay away from the CINE-LIKE gamma if you can. Or be carefull of your lighting conditions when using this setting, otherwise you will be doing heavy color correction like I have experienced.
