Ok.. probably normal.. flipping file scenes from 60i to progressive 30p or 24p while recording will create bars either blue or large interlaced bars of last scene recorded and current recording image.
What does bother me though I get little pieces of noise at the end of a recording.. mosaic like blown pixels ...A dropped frame maybe??? a head hiccup?? its happened a few times and I have less than 4 hours on it. Is it something im doing wrong?? I mean it took me a few times to realize that changing from interlaced to progressive while recording causes the first anomalie i speak of.

Re: DVX 100 A anomalies

Changing the scene files from 30p to 24p or 60i gives you these errors because the whole cadence of the ccd's capturing your image is inturrupted. Even though they all record to tape in 60i doesn't mean that they are 60i. Basically the camera is doing a lot of processing while in the progressive modes so inturrupting that is not a good idea and will always give you errors on your tape. My advise, just don't do it.
