Thanks Danny for the heads up on the online manual. I think I have it figured out now....just need to play around with the balancing part. I have been doing some adjusting and I think I have it to point I am cool with.
I did have a problem at first with the "Radio" holder not staying on the rig...kept falling off into my hands but I figured it out. I had to unscrew the little backplate from the holder then place it in the grooves of the Rig. I then matched up the holes of the holder to the back plate then tightened the screws! I now can use my wireless! I just need to get a short xlr cable to connect to the camera and I am set.
I did some test shoots around the house and it felt nice. The shots came out nice and smooth much like a stedicam. I did try going up some steps...it was cumbersome to say the least so I won't advise stair work with the Rig...going up anyway....coming down looked smoother than going up.
I now see what you all who already have one were talking about in terms of the support rod! I had the rod in for about 10 minutes then I took it off to see how I would like it without it. Based on my little test, it would depend on the shoot. If I am going to have the Rig on my shoulder for a while then I would use the support but for quick shots I could probably do without it. I also like the fact that you can take your hands off and balance it with your body! You can't move though but it feels like the camera is floating in mid air. If you move its going to dip to the side.
For balancing, I moved the camera plate pretty much over to the left. The camera plate unlock lever is just about touching the left hand grip ring. I slid the support rod holder over to the left as well but not as far as the camera plate.
Now should I move the weight on the shoulder mount over to the right side of the mount? Well now that I look at it again, the weight almost takes up the entire mount but there is room for me to adjust it in either direction.
Thanks again Danny for a cool deal!
