Are you sure he isn't trying to show off to those girls how high his "rig" can go? ;)

Re: DvRig Photo and Footage contest

lol...  ;D

We just picked up our new DV Rig today and I'm gonna check it out tomorrow. It seems like a good product though.

danny,
you should resize that image to make it a little smaller (ie fits the forum width on a 1024x768 monitor)

Re: DvRig Photo and Footage contest

Does anyone know if the DvRig pro is available for rent in Toronto? And if so where?

Thanks

Hey, Danny! I'm dyin' over here!

Who's the lucky winner of the contest, and more importantly do you have any pricing information on the car rig yet?

Thanks as always,

Re: DvRig Photo and Footage contest

Danny, wait just a couple weeks for more entries, or until I get that murder scene done, I want to be in on this thing ;)

Re: DvRig Photo and Footage contest

Ok Kyle, Take your time, The CarRig price is not ready yet.

Danny.

Hey, Danny!

I notice you've got Shai's and my footage on your site. Generating lots of traffic for me, so thanks!

Does that mean we won the contest?

Glad you liked what we shot, and thanks again for a great product!

Shai....wow, that **** is amazing! So you used the panasonic anamorphic adapter, is that right? I 'm in awe.

Does anyone have any pictures of the correct setup?

I just got my DVRig and admittedly it will take some practice and getting used to, but the shoulder setup didn't seem right... actually, the angle made it seem like it would be prone to slipping off, so, perhaps I need to get it setup properly or add more weight (though I'm using your standard DVX100A with only a light Formatt Matte Box).

Mail me your photo with the rig (Front and Side) and I will correct your posture.

Try adjusting the holster position and the support point. Keep the back weight as low as possible.

Danny

Hi Danny,
Just checked out your site and your order page doesn't seem to be on a secure server. Am I wrong?
Thanks,
Mike

Just found out again how much personal taste goes into enjoying this stuff.. I love most of Shais footage sooo much... but when I recently showed it to some friends they hated it! They complained about seeing/feeling the footsteps (in the "stability" of the footage) of the operator and how unprofessional that shaky footage would look etc.pp. Then I just asked them if they'd never seen a Steven Soderbergh movie and if they'd say his hand/shoulder camera work looks "unprofessional" too... of course they hadn't. They started to lament or hm more drool over steadicam work etc.
Of course not everyone can enjoy great photography/framing ;-P and it's also a matter of taste (and of course it has to be used on the right time/for the right purpose and not overused) ... but that conversation was really kind of depressing! They were just so bigheaded and ignorant.. jeez *sigh*
Kind of a hard "reality check" for me. Personally always drooling about that kind of shots and trying best to achievy them myself and then hearing from some potential audience how they hate it! :-/ ;-)
