DVFILM Maker.

Has anybody tried the program that is being advertised at the top right of this window? It is called DVFilm Maker and it is supposed to convert ANY NTSC video shot on DV to "true" 24p. If anybody has tried this with a video camera besides the DVX100 please let me know! Maybe we could also post the result video as a demo.

Re: DVFILM Maker.

Yes indeed... I have tried it on cheap footage from a cheap camcorder and it works very well.

One of the added benifits that is missed is having true 24p footage instead of 60i with pulldown is that 24p footage is alot smaller on the drive, which when you get alot of hours racked up makes a big difference.

Re: DVFILM Maker.

Jared, Can u please post the dvfilm footage that you used for an old camcorder online so that I may see it, as well as others considerign purchasing DVfilm maker?

Re: DVFILM Maker.

You can download a demo of Maker and try it for yourself. I've used it with my VX-1000 and was quite happy with the results. Since I use Sony Vegas for editing, it may become redundant for me when my DVX100A arrives next week.

Re: DVFILM Maker.

Hey, here's an idea for those of you with DVFilm Maker...

Could you try shooting this test on the DVX shooting a subject under controlled lighting conditions?

Shoot the subject with the DVX at 24P, then (with similar settings) switch to 60i and shoot the same subject.

Convert the 60i DVX video to 24P and compare to the 24P coming from the chipset of the DVX.

Follow me? Not sure I explained it that well. But I'm curious to know if the software works as well as the internal progressive, 24P recording done by the camera.
