DVDA question

I have some footage that was shot in 16/9. I rendered it in DVDA Widescreen videostream and burned it to DVD. When I play it back on a 4/3 TV it's not letterboxed and the image is distorted. What settings should I use to make the image look right?

If I burn another messed up DVD I'll have enough inventory to open a coaster warehouse.

I'm originating in widescreen HDV, I'm rendering to DVDA wide screen video stream wit h Vegas 6.0d and setting the project to NTSC widescreen in DVDA properties. Yet I stlll end up with a dvd that plays in a set top 4:3 TV withOUT letterbox and with a distorted image.

What am I doing wrong?

The DVD's play normally in a laptop though. Just not on a 4:3 TV.

I think I solved the problem. I WAS doing everything right, the problem was the DVD player wasn't scaling the image. I tried all my would be coaster on a different player and they worked.
All dvd players are not created equal.
