Alright kids; get your butts in shape !

Terry, that is so much better than Johnny Carson. Even though Johnny was a classic, he couldn't cure the fever. :)

I've been avoiding this thread like the plague... I am so bad at excercising. We have these awesome weight machines and cardio stuff at home, but I am just so lazy when it comes to this. I need to be challenged to do this, and I think I need to start at least doing cardio on the elliptical machine.

Check out my blog (link in my sig)...I'm going to be detailing my journey back to health. The next couple days will describe the program and then starting Monday when I actually begin it, I will detail what I am doing.

Kimko, that recipe sounded pretty good...you should post some more, if you have 'em.

Peace,
Larry

This is all pretty cool stuff. I actually have been adjusting my schedule to an earlier start because of a new quarter at school, and being up early has been making me itch to go work out.
I think it's about time that tuition pays off in the form of the school's free gym!! I am also motivated to eat healthier- less fast food, more packed lunches! TC and I are gonna help each other kick the damn soda to the curb too!
(Could it be the natural instinct in all of us that summer is a-comin and it's time to be active once again?!)

NEVER FEAR UUNNDDERDOG IS HERE(in my Wally Cox voice) hey you guys remember Godfather 1 when the fatman (i forgot his name he was the godfathers number one soldier)he was cooking the sauce and he was telling Michael to stir it then you put the sausages in, aw the memories of Godfather.....the food, it reminds me of R.I. where i'm from, Italians loud, laughter, yelling, mommas calling their kids for dinner. going to my best friends house, and she's insisting i eat more cause i'm too skinny and she stuff the sausages herself, and the father saying if you don't eatta she gonna be so sad she gonna die(in a broken english accent) aw MR DELGIZZO YOU A FUNNY GUY

Emeril Lagasse is from RI, too.

i've been eating spelt and rice bran pasta instead of wheat and i make my own sauce from fresh tomatoes it's rather easy to make with your own ingredients ie; no oils, tomatoes from the vine stew it up with garlic and carrots(this will sweeten the sauce without sugar and cut the acidity and bay leaf) then just sprinkle italian seasoning for 3 to 4 hours low temp, then bottle it up and freeze for meals to come.

Can i get this broken down please ? It sounds awesome. In detail ?

And I too put the suasage in my Sauce!

You Know I Don't Measure That's The Only Problem It Taste Different Everytime...but It's Always Good, Oh By The Way A Little Red Wine In There Too And Onions, You Can Also Put Peppers But Last So They Don't Get Mushy

hey i'll break it down. i just bought some tomatoes so i'll make some today and i'll right it down. it's weird i have to do it before i can write it on here. you know a pinch of this a pinch of that and then whatever i have in the fridge throw it in there too

ok, here goes......euro farms on the vine tomatoes 20 roma(4lbs) 36 campari(4lbs)make a slit in each i just put them in a big pot and i stab them, cover let them stew on high til boil then down to a simmer 1 hour.. then 4 big carrots chopped..20 cloves garlic..1 onion chopped..4or5 bay leaf (don't have any no problem)carrots do the job, throw them in for 2 hours on simmer..now after the 2nd hour,4 table spoons italian seasoning(buy it already mixed)..1 teaspoon red hot pepper seed(optional)..1/4 teaspoon cinnamon(thats right)..3 or 4 teaspoon salt..1/2 teaspoon ground pepper(fresh is great)..after the 3rd hour put in 3 chopped whole peppers and a 1/2 cup of red wine..oh yeah John put your sausage in on the 2nd to 3rd hour depending on well done or if you want them with a snap, and you veggie eaters if you want tofu bake the tofu first in 2 inch squares then toss them in when the cooking is done..man that's the first time i ever wrote any recipe down, it was hard cooking that way! i'm so used to throwing together without measuring, but this is good for me. now i'll have some consistency in the taste. oh before i forget spelt or rice bran noodles at your health food store, they're more expensive but better for you! and of course a nice bottle of Chianti or a Cabernet any hearty red wine, bon apetite

I Spent Hours And Hours Cooking over a hot stove An Writing Down This Recipe For You Guys And I Get No Response! Except For The Two T's......well I Never!:crybaby:

Alright guys, I'm back. No NAB for me because I'm presently stuck in a big desert with no chance to leave anytime soon unless I catch either a C-130 or a bullet. I suppose a bullet in the behind would get me sent back to Germany :)
Anyways... I've not been able to get on DVXuser.com because the network I'm on usually has message boards blocked, but sometimes I get through. hehe. I told Larry here that I'd keep him updated on my own "pilgrimage"... so here is an update: Because of this thread's inspirational message, I've quit smoking (it's been one week smoke free baby! and I'm never gonna relapse), I've started a couple martial arts classes (Krav Maga and Capoiera), and tomorrow I start a new weightlifting regimen. I ordered "Weightlifting Workouts that Work" off of Amazon, and I plan on using this book as a basis for my workouts. I've never been a "gym rat", but I intend to start working out a lot more. My diet's not changed much, but I've cut out Soda. That was a real butt kicker. As a matter of fact, that was probably worse than quitting smoking. I had a horrendous caffeine headache after I quit drinking soda cold turkey. I'm not too worried about what I eat because I have a rather fast metabolism... but I will be more cognizant of the types of foods I'm consuming because I wanna put on a few pounds of muscle. Oh yeah, to commemorate (?) my lifestyle change, I started growing out a moustache the day I quit smoking. It's a week later, and I'm happy to say that I'm still sporting a nice furry lip.
