Dvd to dvx?

I wonder if I could play my Dvd player through my Dvx100? I have a short film on my dvd and need to get it onto a mini dv. :dankk2:

You coudl convert it bt there are free/shareware DVD extraction programs to extract and convert to DV.

connect a DVD player to your DVX via s-video or RCA. It'll work just like a regular TV. If you want to put it onto your computer, hook up your DVD player to your DVX then your firewire to your comp. In the menu there is a "A/V setup".There should only be three options in that. Then you put "DV Out". Your DVX is now a converter. If you have anything on VHS, you can do that same thing. You can also..umm...back up, yeah back up....your regular DVDs too.

Hi Corine,
Mpegstream is more fore converting TS files(or MPEG2) to back to Quicktime.MOV...This way you can edit it in FCP...
I guess Rubop's suggestion is the way to go in your case...
