Im looing for an in depth guide for 24P DVD, I know its kinda been covered in other discussions, but the info I'm looking for has kinda been danced around. If unable to explain in depth, then I'm looking for a sort of guide, of the best settings for exporting 24p Film from FCP and importing it into DSP3 - Once I do that how do i maximize the quality of the video file once I author it to the DVD-R, Thanks for any input

hi matt-
probably not the answer you are loooking for, but do you have a manual? the answers to your video file question is between p. 37-41.

I can't believe how many questions there are on this very simple task..

when you create the MPEG2 file with Compressor... it will automatically be a 24p MPEG2 Format if the source Quicktime file was at 24 FPS.

You can also just adjust the settings of the MPEG2 Presets in Compressor and specifically set it to 24p.

It is really really simple. As far as I know there isn't any other way to do this.. and DVD Studio Pro won't know the difference between a 24p file and a 29.97 file.. it will just burn the file to your disc as it is.. your DVD player is the one that will apply the 2:3 pull down to the footage when it is played.

tpooh, thank you for responding, no i dont have a manual, I happened to have gotten a pirated version of DSP3 - So it came with whatever software normally comes with it. Loki, thanks for the exporting process, I was acually aware of the compressor with mpeg2, but I am more concerened with DSP3's configurations in decoding any video in which you put into the authoring program, which will degrade the quality. As I am not incredibly savy with DSP3 so I need some1 who is to let me know exactly what settings, exactly where, will make the end result image on any DVD player at its fullest potential.
