DVD Recorder with Avid Worlkflow

I just bought this recorder:

LiteOn HDD/DVD Recorder 5045

MichaelP, what do you recommend as the best way to add it to my Avid workflow? I remember you mentioned once before using a DVD recorder as a transcoder. How exactly should I configure this with Avid and Mojo? I also have a DSR-11.

are you asking how to connect it. i have a dvd recoder also. i use svideo out from mojo and svid into dvd recorder using line one. if you can set it up for firewire that is best ive tried and failed the options are grayed for me but try it and good luck.

i have a dvd recorder and avid and heres my work flow. this might help someone.

avid xpress pro 4.6 with a pioneer hs 520 pvr.

firewire out of dvd recorder into computer. capture in avid, turn off deck (red circle with cross through deck icon) and choose whatever timecode works, (sorry i don't have my computer here to get exact specs, but ain't no tc on the dvd so let avid generate that). play off the dvd and crash record in capture tool.

avid to dvd, in blue dot mode. set recroder to dv input and play off avid sequence, recorder straight to dvd or harddisk.
its awesome!!!!!!!! hope my half assed insturctions help, maybe i'll do something with screen grabs to help.

i also have a dsr 11, so it is possible to lay stuff off dv tape to dvd, with 4 to 4 pin firewire or s vid, or dvd to tape or dvd to harddisk, all thought patchin'.
