DVD Problem

Ok, not sure where to post this but hope you guys can help. I have about a 2 hour video that i did on a DV tape and I am wanting to put in on DVD, I don't have a burner or anything yet so I found someone who had a comp with a burner and Sonic MyDVD(I know, its not great but its all I could find) anyway I captured the tape into the program as a mpeg file and the quilty looked OK, but the problem is the footage won't fit onto a DVD! I can't even get a hour of Mpeg encoded footage on it. I really would like it on a DVD and it lookes like sonic is my only option for now, can anyone help? ???

Re: DVD Problem

You can make two hours fit onto a single-layer DVD, but you'll have to lower the quality. Lower the bitrate, etc.. I'm not familiar with MyDVD, so I don't know how detailed you can get, but I assume it gives you quality options.

Unfortunately, you only have so much space on a DVD, so to get that kind of length on it, you'll have to sacrifice quality.

Or, you can split it up and put it onto multiple full-quality DVDs.

Re: DVD Problem

Your quality will suffer a little, but try to encode with fallowing bitrates: max. 8000kb/s - average. 3450kb/s - min. 1350kb/s and your 120min should fit on one DVD. Sonic needs elementary stream video if I remember correctly, and PCM audio.
