hey no problem... vector logos can be tough to find.
You should see how cool Dolby does thier logo thing.. I recently got certified for Dolby Digital and they sent me a Truetype Font.. that was thier logo.. kinda like the wingdings font but each letter was a Dolby Logo.. pretty cool, at least I thought, cause you can put them anywhere.
I just wanted to throw the MiniDV logo at the end of my credit roll, kinda like a "filmed with Panavision" feel, "shot with MiniDV" just a DV-pride thing.
I just noticed I've been dropping the second "r" from your first name, so for the holidays, I'm giving you your "r" back!
you only need a licence if you MAKE dvd's... meaning if you are Riktek or Maxell or someone. They already paid the license.
I could be totally wrong of course.
I understood it to be for people creating dvd's for release, like replication houses, etc also... Anyplace creating a dvd final product using the dvd spec. Of course, I can be way off too.... it's a monday.
thats not a licensing matter, it is a spec question. DVD-R's dont play on all DVD video players, so you are going against spec if you put the dvd video logo on one. IF you send a DVD-R to the DVD forum to request a license (which you dont need to do) they would reject it because it doesnt meet spec.
If you however get a glass master and stamp DVD's, then you can use the logo, you dont need to pay that the company that makes the master has already paid the licensing fee.
