DVD Intro in 24p

Would appreciate some feedback! This is the 2nd Instructional DVD I have done for this local "Food Stylist". He carves fruits and veggies and comes up with some amazing things. Anyways, this footage is the "first play" on the DVD. We were looking to compact a day in the life of David into 60sec. The backround music is from Freeplaymusic.com and we will need to get that licensed before we sell the dvd's. I hope to one day see this on the Food Network.

Be kind to me. I have only posted one other time and I do value the feedback from this forum.

i liked it, but Im only a newb without a dvx, so my opinions don't really count, :(

Not to be critical or anything... I'm also without dvx but i made couple of dvd's

1) The shots look fine.
2) The music is also good. Fits into whole idea.
3) I didn't like the "subtitles" meaning the way they appear. Almost everyone in different way. It didn't feel right for my eye at least...
4) I would show some more of his work. There are only like few shots at the end... maybe 3-5 seconds more. Just to get an idea and show the potential of his "art".
5) and the last thing. At the end there is his logo and at the background a moving polygon with a light outline. I didn't like the move of it. It suddenly starts to move at the end to the left and finishes after 2 seconds. I donno what's with that...

// but that's only my very subjectiv opinion. The first rule is: If the client likes it then it's all right ;D

Looks good. Although it went a little long for an intro. Cut it down and you've got yourself a really nice video.

Thanks so much for the advice... Cutting it down is certainly and option we will look. Also, good idea to have more of his carvings in the intro..... The titles were done in Vegas and they were just temporary until i can make some in Boris...

The "Food Stylist" Font is not jiving for me; looks out of place in style and location on the screen. I'd re-think this design element.

It is indeed long for a 'first play'; I'd consider the length on this one.

I would shorten it, change font design and pick up the pace for some 'Pop'

The footage looks 'staccato' or 'jumpy'. Did you re-insert 2 + 3 Pulldown upon Render?

Once again thanks for the comments and feedback... Josh, it is good to know that there is somebody else in Tupelo with a quality dvx camera... We are a rare breed in these parts...

David the "Food Stylist" just interviewed with QVC to sell His DVD's and Knives last Wed.... He showed them this intro and his Carving abilities. We should hopefully know something Mar 18th whether they will sell them or not....
