6 years ago, my tattoo artist handed me one of these...it was a DVD cut to rectangular buisiness card size, and it comes in a little clear vinyl sleeve...i thought it was the coolest thing, because it was a little movie of him tattooing, and photos of his art.

Some of you may think i'm a day late and a buck short in suggesting these here, but in over a year of being on this site, i've never read anyone mentioning them.

you can get a reel on there no problem, and (depending on your encode) you can get several minutes of footage on one with the space that's on there in it's cut size to hand out at meetings, and social functions. they will play in virtually ANY dvd or blu-ray player.

i've always thought this was a cool idea, so i thought i'd bring it up.

i thought about having these made until i learned they will jam up a slot-loading disc drive. and knowing most of the people I would be giving them out to would try to pop it in their laptop, well... i didn't want to field any "hey idiot..." calls. know what I mean?

they were neat novelties at the time but jamming folks' drives is no way to begin a relationship...nor having would be clients toss your card so nobody else throws in in one of their drives. Today, it's very easy to have your site listed on the card. If interested, they'll simply go there and enjoy much better and more data.

The problem with any good idea is somebody somewhere is going to stick it in his eye and injure himself...notice I left the ladies out...they use better judgment. Now that usb pen drives are cheap and getting cheaper, a small capacity one with your info silk screened on it like those hand out pens we all collect might be cool.
People will be more likely to keep them, possibly even watch the content you put on them before they erase and use them for their own stuff.
At least the silk screen info will remain because the thing won't get tossed like a business card.

....tattoo artist?
