DVD ARCHITECT 6.0 - A few questions

I have a few questions about DVD Architect 6.0 that should be relatively easy but I have not been able to find the answer to.

1.) Is there a way to adjust the volume on a pages background music?
Audio is easy to drop in there, it's drag and drop, but is there a way to adjust the volume on it? Or is it simply set once the audio is in there and there's nothing you can do to it volume wise?

2.) Is there a way to start the pages audio track later in the track? For instance if the .wav file that has been dropped in there is silent for the first 3 seconds of the file, can you do something to tell Architect to start it later? I've messed around with trying to start the loop point later, and moving the green marker/flag/bar thing at the beginning of the audio track over to where I want the audio to start, but when I do that and preview it, it's not the audio that is effected, it's the text on the page. Any text on the page disappears until it reaches the indicated time marked used with the green flag/marker thing. The audio still starts at the beginning.

3.) Since I was unable to find answers for 1 & 2, I decided it would just be faster to edit the audio file myself in Sony Vegas 13 Pro - So I dropped the .wav file in question in Vegas - I adjusted the audio and cropped the beginning of said audio and rendered it as a .wav file. I then attempted to replace the old audio with this new .wav file, but DVD Architect wouldn't accept it. When I try, I get an error message saying "The selected file is not of the required type" - Which baffles me because it's a .wav file. I tried rendering it as a .wav with a few different options(16bit & 32bit as opposed to default) but it doesn't work. Any other .wav file I point it to will work, but these new adjusted audios that I render as .wav using Vegas, will simply not be accepted by DVD Architect.

I appreciate any help on any of this. I've spent hours scouring message boards, doing web searches and looking for tutorials that would address any of this but can't find anything.

Thanks in advance!

I remember reading somewhere that DVD architect prefers audio from Vegas to be AC3 or ?PCM if I recall correctly? Maybe try rendering to that in Vegas? Your first two questions are beyond me.

Manipulating audio levels and timings should be done in a video editor, not in a DVD creating software.

No. You do all this before you drop it into DVD Architect.

You'd want to, anyway, because if you do it correctly, you're exporting from Vegas in formats that DVD Architect doesn't have to recompress, which will result in a better-quality DVD.

Anything you could do to manipulate anything in DVD Architect would result in DVD Architect recompressing it, and you want to avoid that.

What are the exact settings you used to render this file? I've never seen DVD Architect not accept an audio file of any kind.

Check the sample rate of your audio. DVD is normally 48khz and a lot of audio editors default to 44.1khz since that was the CD standard.

Thanks for all the info folks - This was all very helpful!

I'm not entirely sure what the issue was with the Audio dropping into Architect. Like David mentioned, I had never seen Architect have issues with anything.
I was trying to render using the default settings for a .wav
I finally did solve the problem by just going down the list of .wav rendering options continuing to render the audio until I found one that it accepted. That was odd, but if anyone else ever runs into that issue, one of those .wav render options should work.

Thanks again everyone.
