Are there any problems with using the max Bitrate when authoring a DVD with Architect? I want the absolute best quality for my clients and was just curious if it can cause disc read problems.

Yes, many DVD players will not play a DVD (especially a recordable DVD) if the bitrate is set too high. It's recommended to stay below 8mbps for maximum compatibility with DVD players.
