hi all,
to speed up my work flow ive started to use the free programme from panasonic to convert my AVCHD files to DVCproHD.
im quite pleased with the quality and its definitely a lot more forgiving than editing the raw AVCHD footage
but what i cant work out is whether the converted file remains progressive or becomes interlaced. i shoot in the 1080p mode using the HMC 151 but once converted it then becomes 1440 x 1080.............but is that still progressive scan??
im just wondering as im trying to work out the best settings for exporting to youtube, SD DVD's and Blu ray disks
i have a windows 7 PC and i normally use sony vegas pro 9 or power director 8 but neither accept the DVCproHD files
so ive just installed Premiere Pro CS4 which i really like due to the ease of linking with After Effects CS4. once ive finished editing a project i would normally use Mpeg2 for the "final cut".
with the DVD and Blu Rays i know i can export to Encore without any rendering but with regards to youtube would it be better to downsize it to 1280 x 720 rather than go back up to 1920 x 1080..............or leave it at 1440 x 1080? (ive noticed just recently that youtube vids can now be watched in 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720)
any help, knowledge or advice will be greatly appreciated!
cheers,
scott
