Hey all,

I searched alittle and couldnt find any answers to my problem so here it goes. I shot some DVCpro50 480/24p green screen clips with my HVX and when I started a new 24p Avid project and went to import the clips through the media tool in avid, it says that the clips dont match the proj. It says the clips are 29.97 not 24. Its weird casue when I view the clips on the P2 cards in camera, it clearly says that they are DVCpro50 480/24p clips. When I start a new 30i project and go to import the same clips...they play fine....its just weird. Dunno if any one knows or if this is one to ask the people at AVID. Well let me know....Thanks in advanced.

I loaded DVCPRO 50 content into Avid without problems. I am a new new user to avid, and took me a while to change from 4/3 to widescreen... while I think of it, I dont remember how to do it now !!! :(

Unless I'm mistaken, DVCPro50 clips are all "over 60i". You need to remove pulldown somewhere before they'll work on a 24P timeline. That's why they work in the 29.97 timeline... right now they're 29.87 with added pulldown.

Avid does not currently deinterlace the 24p format when recorded into 60i or 60p formats. It supports the native recording to disk designated by the "N" in the format name. The camera only shoots 23.976 so 24p is not the right project type. In your case, 30i (29.97) is what works. See:

To get 16:9 display, right click on monitors and select 16:9.
