DVCPRO100 to hd sdi

Ok, so I dont seem to see it anywhere in the documentation, and this is probbaly a dumb question, but there is no hd-sdi out on the camera correct. I am looking for a way to use a capture card that only captures uncompressed HD signals via HD-SDI. Anyone with ideas on how I could do this.... i want to keep as much quality in tact (goes without saying) so no downrezing/up rezing, and no composite sd out or any of those other (BAD) ideas.

... this is probably old but, Barry, does the Component outputs have DVCPROHD compression on them? or is it a RAW 4:2:2 output?

If viewing the live image, no compression -- it's uncompressed high def.

If viewing playback, the footage you're playing back will have been compressed when it was recorded.

So does the Camera have hd component out? Wait a sec.... is there such a thing as hd component?

Barry, where is this output on the camera. I have looked on the spec sheet I have, but cant seem to locate it.

It's the D-shaped connector underneath the S-video port. Use the cable that came with the camera, which has red, green, and blue RCA connectors to plug into an HD component analog monitor.

Hey I am talkin to someone at a reseller they are telling me that the connection you are refering to is an NTSC analog SD out. Are you sure its HD?

HD Component Out

HD Component Out

I just double checked the Panasonic site and the FAQ section states "It pretty much covers the range of needed inputs and outputs, as it has HD Analog Component, 1080i, 720p, cross-converted 720p-1080i, 480i (D4) output, Composite input/output, S-Video input/output, Standard IEEE 1394 interface and USB 2.0." So there you are.

I'm being a bit picky but I'm yearning for an HDMI out. My projectors and monitors all support this. Component analogue is okay for rough impressions, but it's a little noisy when put upon the big screen.

Not sure how a component to HDMI convertor will look - anybody tried it?
