DVCPRO HD Output and Mixing

I consider to purchase a HVX201A. Although there are a lot of information floating around here I was not successful finding a hint about output and mixing alternatives.

I am using FCP2. At the moment, I am a bit puzzled and concerned about today's state of the art regarding the output of DVCPRO HD footage, i.e. how can I satisfy my regular customers who are used to tape or dvd?:crybaby:

Another issue is mixing DVCPRO HD footage with standard HD footage (1440x1080i) in case multiple cameras (mix of sony or canon hd and one hvx) will be used. In FCP2 it is possible to capture and mixing different formats (I realize the weakest link in a chain determines its strength). Will it be practical?

There are so many HVX 200 users in the field who most likely faced similar problems in the beginning. What is your solution?

Barry, you are the HVX Evangelist, what is your opion? Do you have any recommendation?

Any hint will be highly appreciated.:dankk2:

A, I don't use FCP so I don't know what limitations it may impose or not, but B, on any editor I use, you can freely intermix footage from any variety of sources, in realtime, no hassles. You output to whatever you want to output to. If you want to output to tape, output to DVCPRO-HD tape, or transcode to HDV tape. If you want to output to DVD, export a DVD-compliant MPEG-2 file. If you want to deliver full-quality footage to a post house, send it on hard disk.

There are tens of thousands of HVXs out there, probably north of 40,000 now, and all these questions are long since settled.

Hey Gipsy.

If you are in the states I can get you a dvd with a card image on it.
