DVCPRO HD Codec Issue

Thought i would throw this out to see if anyone has any trouble-shooting tips

Working on a project shot on the HVX>P2 delivered to me on a harddrive as
DVCPRO quicktime movies. the movies play audio but the screen is all white.

the same goes when i bring it into FCP. when i go to render it tells me i
need additional quicktime componets (opens apple page with codecs)

i updated some codecs, added a few and made sure im running with all updates
...no luck.

the footage was capture on a G5 (all the info i got so far)

my setup:
FCP 5.1.4
Quicktime 7 Pro
Tiger on OSX

any thoughts/ideas?

thanks!

they captured with FCP.

if im not mistaken, capturing (or transferring) with P2 cards, you dont use
any card codecs? (such as kona or blackmagic)

That's the theory but when you see white it means the clip was encoded with a codec that's not on your system. I'd run another software update. FCP 6/Leopard is really the sweet spot in terms of P2 support.

I would update in a heartbeat (and plan to in a few weeks)
but i have a few projects in the works....

isnt it a "no no" to upgrade mid project??
