Hey guys I am gonna film a movie with a Panasonic HVX200 (with adapter--->awesome) and a SonyHVR Z7

mentioned first: many will tell me now, why the heck am i using the Z7 anyway and i wouldn't go for the HVX200 all the time --->well it is just not possible (dates, terms, etc. --->not my own hvx200)

---> so my thought were i would film this in 1080i like that:
Panasonic HVX200------>DVCPRO HD 1080i/50i
Sony HVR Z7-------------->HDV 1080i

well, that sounds like it would be the same format--->than someone told me that the HVX200 would record in FULL HD -----> 1920 X 1080, but the SOny would do HDV 1440 X 1080

the same guy told me that i should record in 720p if filming with those 2 cameras, because of besster compatility.

So my questions: Can the HVX200 film also in 1440 X 1080?

Which formats should I use to include the HVX200 and the Sony Z7 in the same movie?

if it's important --->the whole piece will be edited in Final Cut Pro and/or Avid

thanks for the anseers that will be coming, piece out

--->and i really need to know this as soon as possible (if possible) so please don't hesistatre to answer ;-)

yes 720 p is a good tip. I just work on a project where I mixed HVX 200 720p and Canon HV20 HDVp
and FCP accepts both codecs in the same timeline with no problem.
DVCPRO HD is a less compressed codec than HDV on mini DV tape

the same guy told me that i should record in 720p if filming with those 2 cameras, because of besster compatility.
Okay, not sure that I would listen to that guy because as far as I know the Z7 doesn't *do* 720p!

So my questions: Can the HVX200 film also in 1440 X 1080?
Yes.

1080/50i or 1080/25p, your choice as to whichever suits the look of your film better.
